Happy New Year from STE! How many of you made resolutions for the year? Did you write them down? How do you plan to stick to your resolutions and reach your goals? Research shows that only about half of all resolutions made are maintained after six months and only about 10% remain by the end of the year. So where does everything go wrong? How can you be successful at reaching your goal and sticking with your resolution for a lifetime? STE is here to help.

First decide on your resolution or your goal. Be specific. Write your goal down on paper! Writing down your goal helps you to continue to visualize where you want to be. Look at that goal every night and every morning. Know your purpose for your goal. Maybe you are saving money with the purpose to become financially independent. What ever your resolution, it is important to stay focused on that goal. Sometimes it is even helpful to have checkpoints or small goals that you can make to help you reach your resolution.

Another important tip is that you must BELIEVE that you can reach your goal. If you believe you can do it, then you will be committed to making the changes. Also, you need to remain positive. To keep yourself on track, take out your goal and start reading it again and keep yourself on track to where you want to be. You will go through challenges, but when you have purpose and vision and goals you will stay on track!

One last tip I want to leave you with is to surround yourself with people who are in sync with your goal. Outside sources influence the way we think everyday.
